Small soil cube retains heat better than cells or plugs and germinates
seeds quicker.
Use small seeds that are slow to germinate to save space like:
tomatoes, peppers, onions, eggplant, herbs, and most flower seeds.
These are typically transplanted onto the 2" soil block.
We like to cover our wood flats with a black plastic garbage bag to seal
in the heat and moisture for a couple of days to germinate seeds.
New UV resistant black plastic is a high quality ABS resin to last many
years.
